Environmental Work

Thread Together

In February through April of 2023, I interned at a sustainable fashion non-profit called Thread Together. The organization partners with international brands to save unsold clothing from landfills and redirect them to those in need as an ethical solution to fashion excess. I grew my role from designing marketing materials (below), order fulfillment, and client outreach to creating weekly newsletters, serving as the primary point of contact for corporate volunteer groups, and building decks detailing impact statistics of mobile clothing hubs. The internship culminated in planning/executing an International Women’s Day event (pictured left) for domestic violence survivors to obtain new wardrobes, procured through partnerships with high-end Australian brands such as Bec + Bridge and Dissh. Created a complete retail experience for the clients.

Youth Climate Ambassadors

Selected by San Mateo County to represent my high school in a county-level, 1-year education, outreach, and social impact education program. Learned to conduct observations, collect data, interview, and design surveys. Developed a Community Impact Project, which included developing a waste audit and proposing/implementing a tri-bin waste collection solution at my school.

Environmental Literacy and Sustainability Intern

Only student selected from the Youth Climate Ambassador program (see below) for an internship with the County. Edited video interviews, wrote articles about San Mateo County Environmental Changemakers, and streamlined the environmental education data management system.
